Essential but cosy, no-frills but elegant, it can be defined as &lsquo;<strong>warm minimalism<\/strong>&rsquo;, characterised by the use of natural materials and lines. <\/p>\n<div class=\"indice\">\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"#da-dove-viene-lo-stile-organic-modern\">Where does the organic modern style come from?<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"#caratteristiche-dello-stile-organic-modern-e-consigli-per-arredare\">Characteristics of the organic modern style and furnishing tips<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"#i-colori\">Colours<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"#in-conclusione\">In conclusion<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<h2 id=\"da-dove-viene-lo-stile-organic-modern\" class=\"anchor\">Where does the organic modern style come from?<\/h2>\n<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-64102\" src=\"https:\/\/www.vernicirioverde.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/stile_organic_modern_3.jpeg\" alt=\"Scandinavian-style armchair in front of a large window overlooking a garden, in a bright room with a wooden floor and many plants\" width=\"960\" height=\"625\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.vernicirioverde.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/stile_organic_modern_3.jpeg 960w, https:\/\/www.vernicirioverde.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/stile_organic_modern_3-300x195.jpeg 300w, https:\/\/www.vernicirioverde.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/stile_organic_modern_3-768x500.jpeg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 960px) 100vw, 960px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The origins can be traced back to the thought and work of one of the greatest architects of the 19th and 20th centuries: the American <a href=\"https:\/\/it.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Frank_Lloyd_Wright\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Frank Lloyd Wright<\/a>. It was he who conceived the so-called  <em>organic architecture<\/em>which he systematised in the 1939 book <em>An Organic Architecture: The Architecture of Democracy<\/em> and which he defined as follows: &lsquo;Organic is an architecture that develops from the inside to the outside, in harmony with the conditions of its being, as distinct from an architecture applied from the outside. Environment and building are one; planting trees in the ground surrounding the building, as much as furnishing the building itself, take on a new importance, as they become elements in harmony with the interior space in which one lives. The place (the building, the furniture) &ndash; and also the decoration, and also the trees &ndash; all become one in organic architecture. All aspects of living must come together in a synthesis with the external environment&rsquo;. In the years that followed, designers and architects such as the Finns <a href=\"https:\/\/it.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Alvar_Aalto\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Alvar Aalto<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/it.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Eero_Saarinen\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Eero Saarinen<\/a>, the Americans <a href=\"https:\/\/it.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Charles_Eames\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Charles<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Ray_Eames\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Ray Eames<\/a> and the Hungarian <a href=\"https:\/\/it.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Marcel_Breuer\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Marcel Breuer<\/a> helped to push the discourse forward.<br>\nAs far as interior design was concerned, a seminal exhibition organised by the MoMA in New York in 1941. Entitled <a href=\"https:\/\/www.moma.org\/calendar\/exhibitions\/1803\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>Organic Design in Home Furnishings<\/em><\/a>, it introduced the world to Saarinen, Eames, Aalto and Breuer. In the current interpretation of organic modern, influences from Scandinavian style, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vernicirioverde.it\/lo-stile-mid-century-un-viaggio-nelleleganza-modernista\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Mid-Century Modern<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vernicirioverde.it\/arredamento-boho-chic-cose-e-qualche-consiglio\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">boho chic<\/a> also converge.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"caratteristiche-dello-stile-organic-modern-e-consigli-per-arredare\" class=\"anchor\">Characteristics of the organic modern style and furnishing tips<\/h2>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-64097\" src=\"https:\/\/www.vernicirioverde.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/stile_organic_modern_2.jpeg\" alt=\"Detail of a circular stone sink with a wooden support with organic lines, in a bathroom decorated in organic modern style\" width=\"960\" height=\"625\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.vernicirioverde.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/stile_organic_modern_2.jpeg 960w, https:\/\/www.vernicirioverde.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/stile_organic_modern_2-300x195.jpeg 300w, https:\/\/www.vernicirioverde.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/stile_organic_modern_2-768x500.jpeg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 960px) 100vw, 960px\" \/><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Natural materials<\/strong>: wood, stone, terracotta, ceramics, bamboo, wicker, rattan, fabrics such as linen, jute and raw cotton. However, there is also room for metal and glass, for accent elements such as handles, lamps and frames. <\/li>\n<li><strong>Organic lines<\/strong>: furniture and decoration with soft shapes and curved lines, inspired by nature, contrasting with the edges and straight lines of contemporary minimalism.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Functional elements<\/strong>: no &lsquo;decorativism&rsquo;, objects and furniture are chosen for their functionality.<\/li>\n<li>Wooden furniture with <strong>natural<\/strong>, non-glossy finishes, such as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vernicirioverde.it\/vernice-per-legno-prodotti\/finitura-effetto-naturale-ro30xx\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Rio Verde&rsquo;s RO 3000<\/strong><\/a> natural effect finish, which decorates and protects wood while maintaining its original appearance.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Minimal use of decoration<\/strong>: only a few but significant elements reflecting the natural and modern theme are needed.<\/li>\n<li>Use of <strong>different textures<\/strong>: smooth, rough, stony, woody, metallic&hellip; They help create depth and give more naturalness to the whole. <\/li>\n<li><strong>Horizontal furniture<\/strong>, such as consoles and long tables.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Balance<\/strong> between organic design pieces and minimal furniture.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Natural light<\/strong>: one tends to make the most of it, with large windows and no or very thin curtains. It is precisely through the windows &ndash; conceived as frames of the surrounding landscape &ndash; that continuity between outside and inside is sought. <\/li>\n<li><strong>Plants<\/strong>: they too create an ideal dialogue between inside and outside.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2 id=\"i-colori\" class=\"anchor\">Colours<\/h2>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-64107\" src=\"https:\/\/www.vernicirioverde.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/stile_organic_modern_4.jpeg\" alt=\"Ambitious bedroom in an industrial environment, furnished according to the principles of organic modern style, with elements made of wood and natural materials. The bed is made from pallets\" width=\"960\" height=\"625\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.vernicirioverde.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/stile_organic_modern_4.jpeg 960w, https:\/\/www.vernicirioverde.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/stile_organic_modern_4-300x195.jpeg 300w, https:\/\/www.vernicirioverde.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/stile_organic_modern_4-768x500.jpeg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 960px) 100vw, 960px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The palette of organic modern is mainly composed of <strong>warm neutral colours.<\/strong> Hence shades of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vernicirioverde.it\/arredare-con-le-tonalita-di-bianco\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">white<\/a>,<a href=\"https:\/\/www.vernicirioverde.it\/il-fascino-del-colore-ecru-negli-interni\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">ecru<\/a>, beige, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vernicirioverde.it\/colore-tortora-abbinamenti\/#in-fin-dei-conti-qual-e-il-color-tortora\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">taupe<\/a> and greys contaminated with a hint of yellow or red.
