- Slightly sand the surface with 400 grit sandpaper or abrasive cloth. In this way, you will create micro-grooves that will promote the adhesion of the coating
- Remove the dust with a damp cloth
- Clean the surface carefully with acetone to remove dust and grease, that could avoid the adhesion of the coating
- Apply two or three coats of product
To obtain a smooth to the surface, you can dilute with water up to a maximum of 20%. Use a graduated container to check the dilution. Here is an example of dilution: 20 ml of water per 100 ml of coating correspond to a dilution of 20%. Obviously, the more you dilute the more coats you have to apply. Keep in mind that it is better to apply more smooth and even coats, as they dry perfectly and do not create problems to the final aesthetic result. If you are looking for a textured effect, you can apply the product with no dilution.
Vintage Prestige coatings do not need a primer nor topcoat, because they boast high adhesion and resistance. But, in case of items, subjected to ultra-stress, such as tables, chairs, doors, wardrobes, kitchen tops, RO3000 Decorative Oil can be applied. It is a completely matt low-thickness topcoat, and invisible after drying. It does not change the matt look of Vintage Prestige, on the contrary it increases its resistance to scratches and dirt and makes it water-repellent.
The application tools we recommend are:
- foam/sponge roller, moistened before application (in this way, the coating will spread better and the roller will “waste” less color)
- brush with 6.5 cm long synthetic bristles, dipped in water and then wrung out before the application of the color
Obviously, the roller covers more surface in less time. Mix the product well before using it: in this way the pigments that are settled on the bottom will be mixed homogeneously throughout the coating.

The difference you have between the color you applied and the ones on the website depends on differrent factors, such as mixing, possible dilution, the number of coats, the support. Like all color references published on the Internet, unfortunately the aesthetic definition is given by a series of factors, such as the consultation device (smartphone, laptop, tablet etc.) and even the display settings which may vary.
